A local team, twenty years on the road
Taste2Wildlife grew out of Taste2Wildlife, a naturalist outfit founded in Antananarivo more than twenty years ago. We are Malagasy, we live here, and we drive these roads all year long.
Who we are
We are a Malagasy owned and Malagasy run tour operator, licensed in the Republic of Madagascar and based in Ankazomanga, Antananarivo. Everything we sell, we operate ourselves: our own vehicles, our own driver-guides, our own camp crews. There is no intermediary between you and the ground.
Our driver-guides
Our driver-guides own the 4x4 they drive, which is why they are maintained the way they are. Each one is trained in first aid, speaks French and English, and has spent years learning the natural history of the parks we visit — lemurs, chameleons, birds, orchids, baobabs.
Small groups
Scheduled departures run with a minimum of 12 and a maximum of 18 travellers. Anything else is private and fully tailor-made, from two people upwards. You are looked after 24 hours a day for the whole duration of your trip.
What we give back
A share of every booking goes to the national parks we work in, and we sleep in community-run lodges wherever they exist. Our humanitarian tour takes this further, connecting travellers with the schools and associations we support.
Where we travel
The whole island: the rainforests of the east, the baobabs and tsingy of the west, the volcanic north and the beaches of Nosy Be, the RN7 and the canyons of the south, and the remote sandstone maze of the Makay. See all our tours or read our introduction to Madagascar.
