How does the Tsiribihina crossing work?

Three days by motorized pirogue, two wild bivouacs, a unique encounter with river life. Here's what awaits you.

The classic 3-day programme

Departure from Miandrivazo in the morning. You board a motorized pirogue for 6 to 12 people with a full crew (pilot, cook, assistant).

Day 1: Miandrivazo → Belinta

7h of navigation between cliffs and Sakalava villages. Tent bivouac on a sandbank.

Day 2: Belinta → Begidro

Visit to a traditional village, swim in a waterfall, birdwatching and crocodile spotting from a distance.

Day 3: Begidro → Bekopaka

Final navigation, disembark at Belo-sur-Tsiribihina. 4×4 road to Bekopaka for the Tsingy.

Comfort and packing

Rustic but comfortable bivouac: tents, mattresses, full cooking. Bring: sleeping bag, headlamp, hat, sunscreen, river shoes.
